Medicaid SUPPORT Project

The Center for Prevention Research and Development (CPRD) at the University of Illinois is supported by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) at the U.S. Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) to implement an evaluation of the Substance Use Disorder Prevention that Promotes Opioid Recovery and Treatment for Patients and Communities (SUPPORT) Act in Illinois. The goal of the Illinois SUPPORT project is to increase access to community-based services, including medication-assisted treatment (MAT), for Medicaid members as part of a comprehensive, public health approach to addressing the opioid crisis. CPRD’s role is to help the state of Illinois assess needs for expanding MAT for opioid use disorder (OUD) through a survey of Illinois residents, interviewing family members of individuals living with OUD, and interviewing medical doctors.

You can learn more about the survey here.
